Most dog obedience schools offer classes for all levels of dogs and dog owners, yes thats roght dog owners! Before you can successfully train a dog the owner must first learn how to handle thier dog properly. Once established this will make training your dog much much easier.

Another Good Dog Obedience Tip

Here’s a really useful dog obedience tip which I personally use with my dogs and it is that if you own an aggressive dog who seems to bark at every other dog that he sees outside then a good way to prevent this from happening at all is to take out one of your dogs favorite treats.

I have found that a piece of meat or cheese works best, you know something that gives off a distracting odor for your dog.

Your dog will always prioritize food above meeting another dog so you will be able to take his attention off the incoming, unknown dog. I’ve been very successful using this dog obedience tip and I hope that you find it useful for you and your dog.

One other thing to mention that using these treats is also a great way to help train your dog through repetition. Each time you dog does what you say then yu treat him and in contrast when he doesn’t do what you say you don’t. He will soon learn.

Obedience School For Dogs

Obedience School For DogsPicking a good obedience school for dogs is crucial to how well both you and your dog learn how to get along with the various commands.

A good piece of advice would be to go to a school which has been established for many years and has a class which is full every week. Arrange to visit and sit in on a class do you can watch what usually happens and talk to other attendees. Word of mouth is the best form of referral, hearing how other people who already attend the school with their dogs is a good way to get a feel for how good the school is.

Don’t be put off if there is the odd dog there who doesn’t seem to do everything he is told and seems to show a lot of aggression towards the other dogs attending because this is why he there and it shows that his owner is responsible enough to want to take action on his dogs bad behavior.

Just make sure you do your research before choosing which obedience school for dogs you decide to go to but you’ve already realised this is a good solution for your dogs problems so your already a few steps ahead of most dog owners.

Dog Obedience Training Tip

Dog Obedience Training TipIf I was to give you just one dog obedience training tip that would have a massive effect on any form of dog training that you were to undertake it would be that you must alwasy be consistent with what you do.

By been consistent with your dogs training you establish a routine and boundaries for your dog. This will have a huge implication on how your dog looks and listens to you.

When training your dog you should always do the same thing all the the time, your dog doesn’t understand English so if you say “lie down” to get your dog to lay down on the floor but you also use the word “down” for the same command your dog could get confused. Try to keep certain commands for certain tasks and stick to this, at least in the beginning anyway.

Your dog is a excellent reader of body language and this is how dogs communicate to one another and its how you should communicate to your dog, be wary of if your angry or frustrated because your dog can pick up on this and this could scare them.

Just remeber this dog obedience training tip and your training will be easy and make sure that anyone else who comes into contact with your dog on a regular basis knows this too because other people will have their own words or commands and this could confuse your dog even further.

Dog Obediance Training

Dog obediance training is something you should really consider for your puppy or dog. No matter what age your dog needs to be trained to not only learn how to behave accordingly but to help him learn that you’re in charge.

You see your dog looks for guidance and obedience training for dogs can help give your dog this guidance by means of learning commands from his owner. Most people who own a dog don’t even bother to train their dog and you’ll find that these are the people who have very aggressive dogs who or dogs who bark all day. These people don’t realise or can’t be bothered to train their dogs because it sounds too much like hard work.

The ramifications of not training your dog can be devastating and should your dog ever attack anyone then you’ll end up some very hot legal water, where your dog could get put down. So dog obediance training not only helps teach your dog to listen and obey you but it also helps to calm them down and stops their natural dominant behavior from taking over and allowing them to become a nuisance.

I would recommend that you begin dog training as soon as you can whether you do this yourself with the use of a training course or if you seek advice from a professional dog training school.

Best Way To Potty Train A Puppy

Best Way To Potty Train A PuppyWith obedience training for dogs the very best way to potty train a puppy is to start out by creating a set schedule for your dog. This not only helps you know when your puppy has eaten but will help your puppy learn that you are the leader.

To begin with make sure you give your puppy food and drink at the same time everyday, obviously make sure he has plenty of water to drink but make sure you know ehen he is drinking a lot becasue if he has a full bladder he will urinate at will and this will most likely be on your floor if you’re not keeping a careful watch over him.

Give you puppy plenty of opportuntity to go outside and amke sure you praise him when he does go to the toilet in the right place. When you do this you should always priase just as he is finishing so that he associates your priase with what he has just done.

One of the very big no no’s when toilet training your puppy is to never shout at him or rub his face in his business if he does happen to go inside, this will just develop a fear in him of you and may trigger other issues within your dog when he gets older.

There other techniques you could use however I’ve found this to be the best way to potty train a puppy. By using positive reinforcement when your puppy goes to the toilet where you want him to will only make him repeat this process. Just remember to keep a careful eye on when and how much he has had to eat or drink and you will be able to know when your puppy needs to go before he does.

Crate Training An Older Dog

Crate Training An Older DogCrate training an older dog can be a little tougher than getting your puppy to take to his crate because an older dog may have alread developed his own stubborness. This will make the introduction and acceptance phase a little more difficult however there are some tactics you can use to get your dog to like his new crate.

First off allow your dog to meet the crate by himself, don’t force him into the crate because you will only make life more difficult for yourself. I’d recommend that you either leave the door completely off to begin with or you tie it back so that it doesn’t swing shut on him should he go fully inside.

If the crate has a bottom and top section you could try leaving the top half off and let him go inside the crate, start by placing his bed in the bottom half and see if he takes to it. If he does then try placing the top back on, but only do this when he isn’t inside the crate.

Make the introduction to the crate a game, start by playing with your dog with a toy and then start throwing the toy around for him to collect and bring back to you with some of your throws going inside the crate. He won’t realise that he is going inside to collect and psychologically will be accepting the crate as a safe place.

Another really good way use when crate training an older dog is to throw treats inside the crate, start by tossing the treats at the front of the crate and then throw them further to the back. Again like throing the toy into the crate your dog’s attention is on collecting the treat so he will be accepting the crate without even knowing it.

Crate training can have a massive affect on how your dog behaves and looks up top you as a leader and is highly recommended for obedience training for dogs. To get the desired results when crate training an older dog I would recommend that you give your dog time and never forceably make him go in the crate!

Training For Aggressive Dogs

Training For Aggressive DogsOne of the worst apects of dog training is applying training for aggressive dogs. Aggression is one of the worst forms of bad dog behavior and can be a resulting factor on whether a dog owner keeps their dog or not. Owning a dog who has an aggressive personality makes lif so difficult that you don’t want to take him outside incase you have an incident happen.

Well there is hope and one of the best ways to train an aggressive dog is to get him socializing as much as possible so that he learns that there is no danger when he meets other dogs or people (his aggression is a defensive switch which turns on when he feels threatened). You treat him when he behaves and you take him away from the situation immediately when he starts to creat. Over time your dog will learn that he is rewarded when been in social situations.

Make sure when training for aggressive dogs that you do keep up with marking when he behaves with praise and reward and you take him away from the situation when he misbehaves. When you remove him your only taking him, say for example, out of the room just long enough to calm down and then you re-introduce him again. Keep doing this and you’ll see he will soon calm down and accept his new visitors.

When you begin applying this obedience training for dogs you must stick to your guns and not allow your dog the freedom to react as he normally would, you must take charge of his behavior and show him through your actions that there is nothing to be concerned about.

How To Apply Aggressive Dog Training

Do you own an aggressive dog and don’t know what to do?

If you answered yes to this question then you’re probably wanting to do something about it and the best way is to start aggressive dog training.

This form of obedience training for dogs can be the best way to sort out your dog’s aggressiveness. Aggressive dog behavior is probably the worst type of behavior that a dog can have and the problem is it’s also one of a dog’s most natural ways to behave.

If you were to attend a dog obedience school with your dog they would help you get them into a routine which means they don’t need to be aggressive towards other people and other animals or anything else that can set him off. They will also be able to help you get through and other dog behavior problems you may have by giving you proven dog training advice which has worked with many dogs before yours.

Say you were to let your dogs aggressive nature mature on its own your dog could end up biting another dog or even another person. When a dog bites they can cause some serious damage and this will result in you having to arrange to have your dog put down due to him been a danger to society. If you can calm the aggression now you’ll be able to avoid or even stop any biting incidents from ever happening and to stop dog biting is definitely something you’ll not want to happen.Aggressive Dog Training

Aggression in dogs isn’t normally an issue with puppies as they haven’t yet learned how or why they would need to be aggressive and usually with older dogs its because they are trying to warn something away from them, defend themselves or something that’s close to them (this could be their puppies or their owner) or if someone or something is being aggressive towards them. They will always warn first before they attack.

Owning an aggressive dog can not only be stressful but also can be embarrassing when you’re out in public and you appear to everyone around you like you can’t control your dog. Dogs are also strong animals and when they want to get at something they can be very persistent and you don’t realize how strong your dog can be until it gets into this state of mind. If your dog seriously hurts someone, something or enough complaints are made to your local authorities they have the power to assess your dog and you and actually have the power to have your dog put down.

Sorry to be so negative on this point however if you don’t deal with this problem and take action against the aggressive dog behavior with some kind of aggressive dog training then this is ultimately what will happen.

My advice to you if you own a dog who has issues with aggression is to seek out some professional advice on how to train your dog to a mental state where they don’t need to act aggressive in certain situations.

Here are some tips to get you started on how to apply training to this type of dog:

• Socialize your dog:  When your get your puppy let them meet as many different dogs, people and environments.
• Make your dog realize that they are not the leader… You are!
• Handle your puppy as much as possible in a way that isn’t threatening to them
• Use short obedience training for dogs lessons that are consistent, and do this training on a daily basis.
• Reward your dog for good behavior and seclude them when they are bad.

I would recommend you look into some professional aggressive dog training if you make no headway using these techniques.

Good luck and I hope you do get your issues with your dog sorted however if you don’t then don’t be afraid to ask for help.
