My dog has fleas, but his usual medication isn’t working! I usually give him a bath then put the medication down his back. It hasn’t been working and he itches like crazy still! I sprayed him with some flea spray stuff but that didn’t work either. Does anyone know anything else I could try?

We live in the middle of nowhere so training classes are not an option. I’d love to find a book that discusses training with verbal and gestural commands that we could work on. Any suggestions?

I want to train it so it doesn’t end up like my cousin’s dog who jumps all over people and barks at everything. I want my dog to be my buddy so please hook me up with some sort of DVD to give me the basics of training my new dog right.

Jan 02, 2012 | 2 | Labrador TrainingI have a boxer mix dog who is 2 years old but has never been socialized. Every where that I look for a dog trainer only does the basic and advanced obedience. Shes knows all of the command sit, down, shake, ect but does not get along with people or other pets out side of the household. I know with my children and other dogs, she is not a liability but God forbid she ever gets out, I am scared someone or someone else’s pet can get hurt.

I was wondering if anyone had their dog in 2 types of training and if so how did the dog do? I don’t want to overwhelm my dog…but she is a fast learner and seems to like training. Any feedback with this experience would be appreciated. The classes are different in there own ways and don’t overlap in the same areas of training.

When they go out for walks at night the dog pulls everywhere, especially when it sees a cat, it wants to chase it, it will pull like crazy and if you weren’t ready for his sudden pull he could pull you over and drag you along while he chases the sound or noise. He once even nearly got crashed by a car when they just tied the leash to his collar and just got out the gate, he just leapt over and did a sudden pull!
If this keeps happening their dog will die because… It might get crashed by the car…
Any suggestions on how to solve the pulling problem as well as cat chasing/bird chasing/leaf chasing.
It gets very annoying trying to stop him, they just say sternly, “No.” and they pull him away.
They have tried one of those head leashes when the dog wears something around the muzzle so you can control the head, but the dog refuses to wear it.

We got some as puppies, some as young adults, and some as older dogs. Crate training is for lazy people who dont want to deal with the dog so they stick it in the crate…Does ANYONE agree with me???
NO all of our dogs stay inside with us, and we do work. I HATE city people who think we just sit here all day
