Do you have any Training Tips for me and my puppy?
I just got a 3 month old Lab mix puppy, she’s as stuborn as can be. I have trained my Jack Russell but she seemed easy compared to Honey (my new puppy). She’s pretty big to so trying to get her to walk on on leash is almost impossible. Please if you have some tips let me know.

Practise day-to-day commands, get her some dog toys (which always worked for me) and use her favourite dog treat as a reward for being a good puppy or doing a trick for you. All in all just wait and be nice to her and treat her very well.

a halti might help, or a harness since she is so young still.
I would suggest going to a pet store and asking for advice there, and make sure you go to puppy kindergarten! AND dog obedience, trust me it helps ALOT! you will learn alot there too, but i don’t know if you would want to use the money so.. yeah but its worth it!
goodluck! sorry i wasn’t much help =(

You have to show her that you are the boss, try to look more bold and commanding. Even though you love your puppy, she needs to be disciplined when she is naughty. You are the boss and you have the control.

Well you look like you know about crate and house training… as for walking I would recomend a gentle leader or halti ( they are a head collar) they are a self correcting training tool that can be used for more than just walking, it helps with sit and heal cues too!! make walking fun by bringing on treats, and if she is like anything like my black lab…shes gonna get distracted…easily… so carry a squeeker with you or a whistle.. each time she gets distracted squeek it to distract her from whatever she got excited about. 30 minutes of excersise ( running and fetching nothing less invigorating) is a must with labs, a tired lab is a good one!! good luck!

We have a new 40 pound puppy who is part Border Collie, part – “Who knows what?” Possibly Lab, possibly terrier, but who knows?
He used to pull on the leash. When he does so, I just stop. Then we don’t go anywhere. I tell him “heel,” then we start walking again. If he pulls again I stop, and I say “No pull,” with a slight tug on his leash. The first few walks were a lot of work. But he soon learned that if he pulled on the leash, we wouldn’t be doing what he wanted – going somewhere!
This technique works. He doesn’t always walk perfectly, but he gets better nearly every walk. Patience is key, and a pocket with treats and lots of praise when he does well. Just don’t overdo the treats.

Stubborn puppies are always fun filled handfuls ha-ha…
I found it really helps if you have a small 6 inch lead and leave it on the whole day. Every once in a while pick it up and walk her around. Also have tons of treats in your pocket and every time she does something good give her one My two 9 week old puppies are train on the lead already..
Be careful not to yell at her because it will not help. When you take her for walks pretend that you are the boss of everything, what I mean by that is hold your head up high and strut your stuff. If she is pulling and not going give her little tugs. .
if she is biting you say no 3 time and if she continues put her down and pretend she is not there. Reward good behavior and most of the time ignore bad. It’s the fastest way to get the puppy where you want her.
See how that works for you,
good luck
i think puppys for dummies is a fun and wounderful book to pick up to help you out.

try to break a trick down so that they can understand u and if they get it right, give them a treat.
