@SweetMamaB5 get a Gentle Leader or Head Halter to use for walking. It works perfect for any dog who pulls. you can also put the leash on the dog and have her sit and you step on the leash to hold them down. this does not allow them to jump up on folks coming in the door. remind it to sit and stay. if she goes to get up, she at least will not be able to jump. If she remains sitting when folks come in, give her a small treat. if she goes to jump, have them walk back out door and try again.

I have a 1 1/2 yr old lab who is out of control. No one in our home can walk her, even with a pinch collar on. She is very strong and has knocked down my husband. She’s a really good girl but my husband wants to get rid of her. When someone comes to visit, I have to be right on top of her or she’ll knock them over. She jumps up at people and goes nuts! I need to know how to control her when people visit and also how to take her for a nice walk. Please help!

good advice…but what if it’s to late to teach them calm greetings as a pup? My Lab is now a big 1 year old and is crazy excited when meeting people…how do I train him to calm down when meeting people at his age?

Mine LOVES cars, and even got run over gently..which helped me realize how much i care about her because i cried and cried. Walking does help them, i try several hours a day. They are just very hyper when young, I get some injury every week, but they are loyal pets. Mine has even helped me stand up before by going under me and pushing up!

Labs are the greatest. They stay puppies for quite some time, however they are easy to train and they are very loving. You can not go wrong with a lab for a child or yourself, if you need a pet.
