What do you get when you cross the 2 most dangerous dogs?

Local shelter has a litter of pit bull and rottweiler mixes. What do you think? I have a poodle and a Rottweiler but the puppies are calling to me

Probably either a very ferocious dog, or a sweet and loving cutie. Genetics.

put one to sleep or sell

  3. German Shepherd Passion Says:

You get an uncertain mix, since it is a mix, it is impossible to describe the characteristics and looks of this. By the way, that is stereotyping, the two most dangerous dogs can be any breed, any dog.

  4. Painted Pony Says:

A dangerous dog is one who has already demonstrated severe aggression through attacks on people or other animals. These puppies have done neither. While Pit Bulls and Rottweilers are strong dogs, with proper training and a stable environment either breed or mix can turn out to be the best dog you have ever owned.

It’s nature and nurture. A good balance of both will result in a wonderful dog.

    most do
depends on parents and if they should have been bred
depends on dog and your ability to train

It was probably from a pit fighter’s attempt to make a better fighting dog. Why else would some idiot mix these breeds? I’d want to know the personality of the mother and how the litter arrived at the shelter before deciding to bring one of them home.

My friend has a Pit/ Rotty mix. She is a great dog but it really depends on the temperament of the parents and the way the training treats them. And as a person who was raised around pits and rotties I can say that they are no more dangerous than a lab ( trust me labs have almost caused 3 deaths in my family and pits and rotties have never shown any aggression)

  8. Llama Says:

I agree with German Shepherd Passion. Any breed, any dog can be the most agressive. It also depends on how you raise a dog, how much you work with it etc. I do believe some dogs have agressive tendencies, but most can be managed with proper training. And they are puppies so you have a good start. Also…unless the shelter knows for sure that is the two breeds involved, they really have to use their best guess on what mix breeds are crossed with.

  9. Dog Crazy- BSL is the Pits Says:

You get a mutt. Big whoop. It’s what happens when you mix two breeds. Just because these two breeds are considered “dangerous” by the media, it doesn’t mean you have to live up to the stereotype. It’s kinda offensive to us Pittie and Rottie lovers, you know. I would stick with the 2 dogs you already HAVE.

By the way, I just wanted to mention that just because people say these dogs are vicious doesn’t mean they are. With proper, repsonsible owners and training, a Pit Bull or Rottie is no more vicious than my lab and lab mix. Which is kinda funny considering people think my lab is vicious (he barks like a ferocious dog whenever someone he doesn’t know pulls in, or walks by. His hair stands up!)

There is no such thing as a dangerous dog….only dangerous people. Any dog, brought up in a loving and kind home will be just that…loving and kind.
