Charlie and Bella Tricks – Clicker training tricks class in San Diego – Pam’s Dog Academy
www.pamsdogacademy.com If you live in the San Diego area and are interested in training your dog to do many tricks, please contact me at my email address through my website or call the number from the website. Charlie and Bella both know many tricks and would love to have company in class! I use do use some luring to get some dogs to do some tricks, but we do a lot of shaping and capturing behaviors. We captured Charlie’s growl and put it on cue. If you have seen my video of Isabelle sneezing, that trick was also captured and then put on cue. Every dog can learn tricks! Some learn them faster than others, but all dogs can learn them. I look forward to hearing from you! Have a wonderful 2010! Pam, Isabelle, & Bandit

Sometimes, if she’s in the right mood, we play a game I call “Rah!” I have my hand under the blanket, and it sneaks towards her, she’ll growl and pounce on it. I guess we’ll have to wait and see if I can capture this one! Thanks for the tip!

We did capture the growl. What if you growl at Jaz? hmmm just a thought. I have seen someone use their hand like a claw and that worked for them. However, that dog does also try to bite her hand, which I would not want a dog to do. So, Good luck!

Looks great!! =)
So… how do you teach growl? It took me months to teach Jasmine how to sneeze, because it was a “captured” behavior. And Jaz doesn’t growl all that often. Any suggestions?

My new little Chi (actually she is old…8) has a problem with the harness. It is too big across the chest. Sometimes when I pick her up her front legs will come out and the harness ends up around her waist. What kind is Bella wearing? Would that be the right solution to the problem? Thank you, Ann
