Firstly, YT made me change the audio track and pick one of theirs from their AudioSwap library – so I can only apologise for the shoddy audio quality. Echo is a German Shepherd Dog who works with his human partner, as a Security K9 within the private security sector. Echo has been on-the-job since he was 10 weeks old, observing at the start and gradually having more involvement until he was fully integrated and now works alongside me permanently. Echo is trained in tracking, obedience and protection, along with the usual tricks
I’m proud to be his owner/handler, and he reminds me of that fact every day.
I’m missing my puppy so I started thinking about some of the funny stuff he does so that’s why I asked this question.
He loves to push doors until they close. He makes a game out of it because he’ll push it to make it close but try to get out of the room before the door closes completely. He has “locked” himself in my bedroom and in the closet because he couldn’t make it past but it’s funny to watch. He’s smart enough to put his two front paws and nose under the door and whine so I know where he is.
I also would like to ask when the best time would be to start obedience training with him. He’s a 9 month old chocolate lab/german shepard mix. I’ve worked with him and has the person who I got him from so he knows how to sit and come. He also will walk on the leash pretty well and is pretty well behaved.
~Thanks.~

Puppy-Obedience-Training.net The Boxer puppies and dogs are great to have as pets. They are intelligent quick to learn and very playful. You need an average size yard because Boxer dogs are fairly active. Training should start when they are still a puppy. Thinking of having a Boxer as a pet? go to http for more information.
Got an 11 week old female Pit Bull puppy a few days ago. She’s really shy and she brightens up everyday, but she worries me. I’ve had plenty of puppies and they are always super energetic annoying little things and she is just…not. Anyways, I’ve done some reading and we started obedience training with her today – with the command we are going to first teach her being sit. As I said before, she’s a shy dog and isn’t the kind to come to you when you call her, or jump all over you excitedly. She’s most excited when she is outside, so we took her out there. The way I read to teach is her is to hold my hand above her head with a treat in it, say sit, and if she doesn’t sit, to put her butt down with my other hand and when she is sitting, give her the treat, all the while saying “SIT” firmly. At first we would have to pull her up because all she wanted to DO was sit, and then push her back down to give her the treat. But what happened most of all was this – when the command was said, even with her aware that we had the treat, she would try and run away. I’m not sure if the command scared her or what, but that’s what she would try and do. We did the command probably a total of thirty times and the last 6 or 7 times she sat without having to be made to, but each time we would have to move with her because she would try and walk away from us. I’m posting this up to ask if this is normal behavior and if not, what is wrong with her and how can I fix it? The things I read say that shy dogs are hard to train because they are not as attentive.
