Well yesterday we started crate training my puppy dash. Ever since that I open his double door so he can see me he starts biting his crate biting me and snapping and barking at me like I’m doing something bad. Please help me. I’m not sure whats wrong with him
I have a cocker spaniel. Do they do well with crate training? And we only take him outside and don’t let him roam around the house anymore. I think he is upset because of that.
Also I do try to play with him outside since he’s not aloud to play inside anymore. But its real hot outside and because of that I don’t have the strength to play with him like we are inside.
I have two dachshund puppies and am unsure about if I should crate them together or not? Any advice from anyone with experience in this would be greatly appreciated!
I would also like to add that we started crate training one puppy when we first got her and just got the second puppy earlier this week. They are great together and sleep outside of the crate together. We only crate when we aren’t home which is rare… but the first puppy is fine with this. They both love to go in and out of the crate. Lay in it together and nap in it with the door open. I haven’t shut the crate door on them yet nor have I left them alone in it. I was just wondering if buying a second crate was necessary… I’m a shop-a-holic and marketing targeted dog lover, so more likely then not I will buy another crate! LOL I just wanted to know if anyone else had any experience with this and what they thought.
We lost our 16 year old dog recently and we are now proud owners of not one but two lab puppies. We brought them home last night and I am hoping to get some advice on crate training these two! I have one large crate. The crate would be mainly for use at night. It has been so long since I have had a puppy and I want to do it right so any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
I’ve had my puppy for almost a month, 50% of the tme he goes wherever he pleases, go i decided to try crate training… will it be extra hard to get him to use this method since he is so accustomed to doing what he wants?
I am housebreaking a 12 week old puppy using the crate training method. He hates the crate and immediately starts whining, worrying, clawing at the door, etc. He is normally a very calm and contented puppy. What can I do to make this more acceptable to him, both for housebreaking and for other times he needs to be crated? We have not put him in the crate for more than a few minutes at this point, because he is so incensed about it! If it has any bearing on your answer, he’s a cockapoo.
